Merry Christmas and Merry Catmas?

Cats are said to be,  “purr-fect companions”…and they are. From their instinctive purring to brushing up against us, cats provide a level of love unique to their species. Their constant cleaning, speaking (meowing), playing, and independence make them a unique part of family life.

The relationship between humans and cats dates back at least 10,000 years (according to alleycat.org), but indoor cats as family members haven’t been common until 70 years ago. As hunters, they keep unwanted critters out of our homes. As playmates, they bring a unique joy into our lives. As independent creatures, they can handle our busy lives better than many pets. And as snugglers, they connect with humans through the release of oxytocin – the bonding hormone.
